About adjectives
In the English language, the adjectives are placed before the substantive. Example: A black book.


In Spanish, the adjectives are placed behind the substantive.
Example: A black book
Un (A) libro (Book) negro (black)

More examples:

A bad car --------------Un carro malo
A blue sky -------------Un cielo azul
A young man ----------Un hombre jóven
Clean water -----------Agua limpia
A new house----------- Una casa nueva
A poor woman--------- Una mujer pobre
A kind missionary------Un misionero bondadoso
A deep pond -----------Una laguna profunda (honda)
A clean plate -----------Un plato limpio
A strong man ----------Un hombre fuerte

THE USE OF THE WORD THE

In Spanish you will always use el, la, las, or los to substitute THE
EXAMPLE: The dress is very pretty
IN SPANISH IT WOULD READ: El traje es muy bonito

In Spanish you also ALWAYS use - el, la, las, or los before a noun.
Example: Remember to drink fluids between meals
IIN SPANISH IT WOULD READ: Recuerde tomar líquidos entre las comidas - and you ALSO eliminate TO before the VERB
