Dear Friends,
In case you do not know it by now, Richard arrived on Monday morningsafe and sound, praise the LORD!!!!
We are presently at Fort Stewart where Richard is supposed to do his "reintegration"...and we are not sure how long we have to be here, but our understanding is that it takes a bout a week. So I get to stay here too!!!
I have some news for you in regards to our application with EFCA.
A while back we were told, by error, that EFCA could be our sending organization. We felt EFCA would be the place to start because of our connection through the church. Since then, found, that EFCA still has no plans for Panama. We were told yesterday that "Panama is not a part of their strategy for Latin America," and advised to go through EFCCA (Evangelical Free Church fo Canada). They are currently in Panama working with the Chinese community.
We had some past correspondence with them in the past, and somehow, we did not feel they were a good match for us, not at this point in the process. Perhaps later when and if a school starts we can work with them. We need hands on help with organizing the medical/women part of the ministry as we begin.
We have the proven and wonderful support of Global Projects for the Women's Conference last July, and again, we are so thankful for their help with this mission trip...We look forward to a long -term relationship with them as they have similar goals to us also.
We had previous correspondence with Frontine Missions (Marcia's brother, Harry belongs to this organization) and we will check and see if they still can use us...Their mission goals are similar to ours.
We are told that the vision we have for Panama will require work with various organizations. So, we ask that you please pray for us in all these things. We want to follow God's plan for us or nothing at all.
We do not want to get ahead of Him, and we certainly seek to glorify Him though all this work, and, sometimes we ask the Lord, "Please clarify things for us for we are dumb and ignorant about these things!!!
We have e-mailed schedules of work per team...Please look and make suggestions...We need your input.
We love you, and we are so thankful for your desire to serve the Lord with us in Panama!!
Richard and Norma
